The death of BCoT_Zone wifi
by Ian Ward - Thursday, 21 January 2016, 02:44 PM

The BCoT_Zone wifi is being killed off on Monday morning (25th Jan) and being replaced with BCoT_Hotspot.

You will need to connect to BCoT_Hotspot using the new easy to remember password of 87654321. BCoT_Hotspot will not be available till Monday morning as it will be using the same filtering and monitoring system as currently used by BCoT_Zone.

The reason for this is that this student\guest wifi will have a dedicated 80Mb internet connection not used by any college systems (the existing whole college link is 100Mb)

You should not be having any issues with the use of apple devices on BCoT_zone since the release of IOS 9.2 and we are currently checking that 9.2.1 does not introduce any new problems. If you are having problems can you turn off the "wifi assistant" option and if that does not resolve it please go to F206 (IT Support) or log a support call.
